University of Scouting is in January 2019

On Saturday, January 26, hundreds of area Scouters will converge on Lamphere High School in Madison Heights to attend the 2018 GLFSC University of Scouting.  This annual event will bring some of the most thoughtful and talented Scouters sharing ideas wisdom with their fellow leaders.

The classes are split into Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Venturing and Sea Scout Stands.  Participants can attend any classes they wish, regardless of what kind of unit you are in.  There is also a large number of General Scouting classes. Among the stand out presentations will be “Knots – Basic and Knots – Advanced,” “Integrating STEM Into Your Pack or Troop” and there are three levels of Scoutbook being taught.

A feature addition this year is “Scouting: Fact or Crap” where participants bring a Scouting question and an esteemed panel of veteran Scouters will tease apart the fact from the rhetoric.

Please see the Course Catalog below for a complete schedule of sessions to help you bring the promise of Scouting to those youth you serve in your unit.

Also, online registration is now open at and sign up early.

We hope to see you there!
