Volunteer Grant Information

General Motors provides grants to nonprofits where employees volunteer.

GM offers two types of volunteer grants through the company’s Dollars for Doers program: 

1. Individual Dollar for Doer Grants
After an employee volunteers with a single organization for 50 hours in a calendar year, the company will provide a $500 grant to that organization.

2. Team Volunteer Grants
After a group of employees get together for a single volunteer event where collectively they volunteer for a total of 50 hours, the company will make a $200 donation to the organization where they volunteered.

Submission Process:
Employees / volunteers should search the company intranet for “Dollar for Doers” to log their hours and request a Dollars for Doers grant.
